bw-inc asked: HellO~! I really love your work! You have such a cute style and absolutely love the colors you use~!
Just wondering if you have any tips on how to find work as an illustrator? What do you do to find clients or how do they find you?
Hello! Thank you for this message! :D Thanks! Yay but I still need to improve my skills XD. As for your question, hm. Tips? I don’t know if I am the right person to answer your question *flashes a peace sign* but based on my experience;
- it will help if you start building your art portfolio, something that you can give to different publishing companies and ad agencies. It would be nice if you can come up with something really creative like your portfolio, looking like a cereal box, things like that :D. A simple folio will do as long it will showcase your work. Organize your folio in such a way it will show consistency.
- Sites like Behance, Coroflot and Carbonmade can help you too. Increase your online presence! :D
- Sometimes, you have to scour the net for projects in need of illustrators but you have to be careful because some job postings are bogus! XD
- Do more personal work! :D
- Join art exhibits! :D
- It was really fortunate when I became a member of Ang Ink, an organization for children’s book illustrators. So if there are projects that need this certain kind of style, they will recommend you.
I have to admit that it can be really challenging to find work as an illustrator T-T but I do hope this post helped you in a way ^_^;;.
I really like your work! :3 your kokeshi dolls are so cute! :D with your folio and skills, i bet you’ll find interesting projects! :D God bless to us! :D
